The Club/WST don't seem to be coming out of this very well. Hope you work things out soon.

Please bear in mind that the Club and DSA need to meet and work this through together.
I am still hopeful we can agree a plan we are both happy with.
With at least 46 more spaces for wheelchair users alone to find after this next project there is a lot of work to do, which will be best achieved together.

Interesting reading. Where do you think that these "extra" 46 whellchair users and carers spaces will be situated ?

Hard to say really. Minimum standards would mean they have to "at height" (75% of wheelchair spaces should be and we already have 32 at pitch side).
For sure it will take a lot of thought!

If we build a new Kop then that figure will rise by 5 seats per 1000 general admission seats.

Ever an optimist.

Glass half full and all that...

I do believe this will happen. There is more than sufficient energy, desire and dedication from the DSA. And the club seems to fully understand the intrinsic value of the DSA platforms to a community owned club. And then there is the legal framework on top of that to meet regulations for inclusion in football stadia.

Once everything is ironed out, no matter how long that takes, we will have a magnificent 2nd platform at the Cae Ras for everyone at the club to be proud of...

Interesting , I know we are trail blazers here but if this "rule" regarding minimum number of spaces is correct why arent other clubs compliant ? I would say 99% of the other clubs we visit have very little wheelchair facilities and none I recall have any "at height". I fully support the cause to get proper cover for wheelchair users and a reasonable view but cant see the club loosing revenue by ripping out too many seats to accomodate more wheel chairs after platform 2 is built , am I wrong ?

I don't go to many away games so I cant say much about that. I do believe that many many clubs are non compliant (not even the Premier league is fully compliant yet).
The club would only be losing revenue if seats are full in the first place. Currently we have circa 4000 plus empty seats every game and whole sections not in use.
People will argue that as we rise up the leagues, which we all hope will happen, then those empty spaces should reduce as demand increases. I'd counter that it is reasonable to expect that if the crowd was to double then we should expect demand from wheelchair users to double too.
Currently we only provide for 6 properly sheltered wheelchair spaces each game. 6

Those spaces have to be on a rota as that is the only way we can even begin to be fair in some way about it.

I'm sure the club wants to keep seat loss to a minimum, we do too. All we are asking for is MINIMUM standards of accessibility. And Inclusion.

Just like you and I enjoy.

We are absolutely delighted as a club, that our 1st EVER official Accessible Away Travel is now up and running, and our 1st trip to Solihull Moors on bank holiday Monday was a massive success.

We took 4 wheelchair users and their carers to Solihull Moors and although the score wasn't the best, the day was fantastic and worked perfect with the adapted minibus.

Dan Roberts fan of Wrexham AFC has never EVER attended an away game in his wheelchair and thanks to the new Accessible away travel, he has now attended his 1st EVER away day. Dan loved his day and this is the difference having this travel in place is making to people, another of our fans who traveled said he can't even remember the last time he was able to attend an away day so again, this is now enabling wheelchair fans to attend some away days.

We need to now make this service a huge success and keep it running and hopefully growing for many years to come. However, this service runs at a loss and has only been possible this year due to the club helping, but to keep it running long term I need to start fundraising, getting sponsorship or donations and if anyone has any ideas of ways we could do this then please get in touch. When I have previously mentioned trying to set up the away travel on RP a few fans did PM me, and I will be contacting those fans over the next few days, so thank you, I really do appreciate all the help. Wrexham fans really are a cut above !

I am determined that this service will now continue to run, and although this year we have started it up in a limited way to see how much interest there would be in it , I can already tell you it's going to be a massive success. The feedback from yesterday's game to Solihull really was fantastic !!!

The support from Wrexham AFC fans regarding getting this service off the ground has been overwhelming, so thank you from a very proud DLO !!
Coming back to the original thread title the giving of a donation towards this service was raised at the Kings Mills Reds Meeting last week and it was agreed to make an initial donation of £50.00.
This would be reviewed on an ongoing basis as the service progressed.

Please advise if a separate account or a GoFunding page is to be set up and the funds will be sent.
