perhaps people feel that he reminds them of darker days at the club...

...but I personally feel that he offers a lot with not only his work-rate but often a decent end product. If he put a decent ball in 8/10 then he wouldn't be at this level.

I would prefer 442 with MTF and Beavon as I think they would work well.
It would mean JMD LM and Rutherford RM with Young and Wright in the middle.

The alternative being the 4231 that Sam seemed to prefer with Wright & Young in CM and then JMD, Summerfield, Rutherford behind MTF.

However I think Summerfield was off the pace last night and would prefer Beavon to start.

So does he offer a goal threat? He’s 31 or 32 now do you think his ability to score goals from his usual 2-3 will improve? Genuine question as I wasn’t knocking him but Holroyd is a genuine goal threat

take your point ,he gives his all on the pitch ,

he is not a out and out striker but a provider as last seasons assists proved

i think Holroyd will find it hard to get his place Beavon is class,

SR will probably rotate the strikers

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I think Beavon looked poor (average at best) when he came on. He failed to do the basics of controlling the ball and making a simple pass a few times. Personally hoping it’s a bit of rust from not playing for a while. Just don’t get the hype around his performance.
