Biggest decision - Release Walker and spend £250K on the best defensive midfielder we can get, and win the league.
Defensive CM isn't going to bring the title and as for £250k I'm 1 player. Laughable

Prefer to loan out rather than buy out at this point. The list looks ok and we need 3 in IMO

Goals make a difference and win matches - I feel the weakest part of the team is the inability to put the ball in the back of the net - any available funds should be channelled into bringing in a striker who can convert chances - Salford City, Leyton Orient and Fylde all have recognizable regular goal scorers. I suppose it's a bit of a simple statement - problem is that anyone with a proven track record will be in big demand and may come at cost - that or we keep recycling young prospects and 'hope' they come good - oh for a Gary Bennett Mk 2.

Worried about Salford and Orient obviously but I am not currently worried about Fylde though I agree they have a good forward in Rowe. We are certainly not settled up front but I am not sure we need to change completely. My move would be to get a decent striker to complement Beavon and Rutherford with Pyke as an impact sub. Fondop can stay and things may turn around but we do not have time to hope with him. Many rightly said that last season was an opportunity but so is this - we are top and want to stay there. Be sure the boardrooms in Salford and Orient are concerned about us and our terrific fanbase as well as the Ward money. Cover for Summerfield would be great and Wright may have to take his chances when they come from the bench. Lainton for sure should be retained and if that can happen early then we should do it - good news is Dibble is no mug as backup. Honestly no idea about Burgess or Hinds.

I would value Walker at below 50K, very good at this level, but I see the role he plays as absolutely vital. I think Beavon/JMD/Ruthers/Holroyd are all very good attacking link players. They excel when the passes to them are good, their control is quick and they are creative. If they received 20/30% more accurate passes then I think that would make an enormous difference to our attacking. They are good enough to create and score goals.

I don't see our failings in scoring goals as a problem up front. I see the problem is not getting the ball to the front men accurately and quickly enough.

I don't agree. Both the midfield and upfront is a problem if we want to win the title.

Without Summerfield we are completely rudderless. We need to bolster that midfield.

The other issue is that the ball isn't sticking up front so it keeps coming back hence why our defence tends to naturally drop deeper as the game goes on and we don't put our chances away when we're on top in a game which again builds pressure.

We need a centre mid, a winger with pace and a striker who can hold the ball up and who can also hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

Scott Green won us our last promotion season. Without him that year we wouldn’t of gone up

Walker /Summerfield/ Young is a very good midfield imo. Focus should be on the front 3 positions.

After 19 games I simply cant agree on JMD. Beavon and Ruthers are both having good seasons and,for me, need to start. Holroyd I hope simply needs more game time but I am not certain. JMD is ,in my opinion, quite simply a luxury we cannot afford.

Have to agree, our defence, and to an extent our midfield, would be very difficult to improve significantly.

Any investment should be on a clinical, experienced striker. I know that this will be an almost impossible task to find one in January but we're creating chances so breaking the bank to go for someone like Rowe could be the difference this year.

As an aside, I was just looking at the form tables and apart from the fact we've won our last 6 home games, we only need 5 more victories to equal the total amount of wins over the entirety of last season.
