It won't happen - aside from wage issues, it's too risky for a man who's managed in the Championship.

His natural level is probably League One, if he took the Wrexham job on and didn't get promotion, he's then a non-league manager
But if he DID …. IMO we could easily do a 'Lincoln'.

I wouldn't want Challinor here. I don't like him or rate him at all.

I don't always subscribe to the thinking that a manager has to have a previous connection to a club. Passion is good, but strategy, clear thinking and ruthlessness is also needed.

To my way of thinking we retain the links we have with FAW through Carl and seek his thoughts again on likely candidates who have shown promise on his coaching courses.

Much as we did with SDR.

Possibly. but what if:

a) we don't go up
b) we go up and struggle
c) we go up and come straight back down

all of which are more likely than:

d) we go up and go up again or get into the League Two playoffs

as I say, too risky for DF. If he's happy to manage in the lower leagues he'd be better waiting for the Tranmere job.

Not sure what you base your 'more likely' assumptions on ? By the way a) is irrelevant as I said 'if he did'

Big den has been in Trinidad awhile now hasn't he? I've no knowledge or where he lives, but what does he know about the National league? Personally I would like an experienced manager this time as we are halfway through a season and challenging, another rookie hasn't time to continue our promotion chase on paper Askey is the obvious choice if he wants it, knows the league, has worked on a shoestring budget for years, plays attacking football, and is available to join as soon as Ricketts clears his desk, assuming Askey wants it and can agree a contract.

We have plenty of experience via GB. Personally think Lawrence would be a better choice than Askey.

Unfortunately, we first need to offload Ricketts. Until he signs for Shrewsbury we are in a state of limbo about our liability towards his salary, especially if the deal falls through.

Sooner he signs for Shrews the better, IMHO.

I would love Big Den here, working with Barrow. The guy is a Wrexham legend and an experienced coach and, let's face it, Barrow is the one who is responsible for most of our signings under Ricketts anyway. He could be our talisman and figurehead.
