Maybe they can present that to the farmyard at the AGM? Are we fully past the “4 legs good, two legs better” part yet?
So what is your objection to The Groves site?

Seeing as you know the cost of the site at Groves, can you advise us what other sites were considered, their costs and why they were rejected?
Thanks!

Are you happy with likely build costs of £1.5m plus on a facility that if our expectations on the playing field are reached, would soon become unsuitable? We don’t have the money to finance such a venture as it is, to spend it on an unsuitable plot of land would be baffling.

I would imagine there’s plenty of suitable land in the Wrexham county area, Wrexham industrial estate for example. Hopefully similar options have or are being discussed with WCBC. If they’re willing to gift some valuable real estate in the town away, why not somewhere else?

Surely the point is how much they cost to buy/lease, how easy it is to get planning permission, and whether the location suits?
Is it cheaper to rent? How much is Cefn Druid’s? How much is the Queensway and is it available when we require it? Has this avenue been explored or are we going for the cheap option of free or low rent land?

As far as I am aware this was the site that the council offered in place of our current training ground. And like our previous site it has been offered at a very low cost.

You’re better connected than me, so if you know better, feel free to inform us all of the other sites available to us at a similar cost.

I’ve got no problem with people complaining. The issue for me is those who offer no alternative suggestions. It’s just pointless and achieves nothing.

My complaint is this:

We have been training at substandard facilities for 4/5 year? We have been told the council want the nine acre site back for development of a school and have offered us a small plot to build a new facility in the town centre.... (please correct me if i’m wrong).

We’ve had 4/5 years to plan for a new training facility and rather than use that time to find a plot, buy/lease it and build a basic facility (when i say basic i mean running water, electricity... That type of thing), we’ve done nothing. We will end up spending a small fortune on improving a site in the town centre that a team aspiring to go higher will outgrow rather quickly.

My guess is if we do go to the Groves we’ll spend a few grand on grass seed like the 9 acre and still expect the players to get changed at the racecourse and drive across town and back for a shower.

Your answer to any complaint is to simply follow the flock like the rest of the sheep.

I believe it is cheaper as the site has been offered to us at a peppercorn rent.

How would those sites be better for us than being able to develop our our training ground with the right size and type of pitches by the way? Interested to understand your reasoning.
