The football club board had a degree of autonomy but the trust board sacked the manager or insisted he was sacked.
The trust board appointed the FC board so the power is with them. In other words if the FC board go rouge they could be deselected.

Why did the FC board request the trust board to ratify the decision if their opinion was worthless?

Wasn't the Trust board made up mainly of the FC board? Hard to see how they'd deselect themselves. (Not 100% sure as I may be misremembering numbers, though!) As far as I can tell, the joint members of both boards sound like they steamrolled over the people like JH who were opposed to, or at least dubious about, the appointment.

Being honest I'd rather look to the end of Keates' time here.

Until he's gone this club can't start to progress in any meaningful way on the field. I expect it will be the CEO who will get rid so this has to come first, hopefully in very short order.

Yup, people like to forget this. JH also didn't want Keates because so much of the fan base didn't want him including members. While those like JH tried to represent the members at all times, others liked spending other people's money knowing they're wouldn't be consequences. £10k on flames in the tunnel or spend it to make sure toilets are clean and have hot water, tough decision that one.

I mean a group of bricklayers couldn't do it, so what chance do a few actors have? Then someone will pipe up about money,but so far they've spent no more money than the trust ever had and things are improving drastically.
