I agree, you can see that it is almost there but we aren’t quite functioning as a team, once it clicks we will be tough to stop.

Play like we did on Monday and we will smash almost anyone in this league, they won’t all defend as well, and get the lucky breaks that Notts did.

Jesus christ. If he isn't slap bang in the middle of our target demographic, something is seriously wrong.

The way he sets the team up is JD/LM plays furthest forward, allowing us to change to a 343 if needed and the other two midfielders essentially act as box-to-box players, with one dropping deep if the other makes a supporting run.

When Dave Jones played, the onus was more on Young tonget forward but even then, DJ didn't take up a traditional holding role. He was quite often further up the pitch offering himself for an outball to recycle the play.

The issue as I see it is one that can be addressed by positional coaching so that we don't have situations were we face an overload in the middle due to poor positioning when our attacks break down.

It's still early days and I'm pretty sure if PP thought we desperately needed a holding midfielder we would have signed one or he'll be working on signing someone out of contract.

You can almost put a whole team together with our ex-players. It would be a pretty dreadful team though.

Just that he wants a couple more years playing then coaching, he already has his A licence. It was recorded a few hours before the deadline and they joked that Neil could play central midfield but it was no more than that.
