Really annoying we've spent £200,000 on one defender alone and we're having to dig deep to get a draw.
I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you think 10 new signings are immediately going to knit together and win every match in a league we've struggled in for 14 years

Parkinson has set his sites on the better League 2 and decent League 1 players. They cost a lot.

It might have been better to employ a manager who knows the National Leagues and the players that can get you out of it. It still costs (eg for a reliable 20 goals a season striker) , but you can get defenders and the right sort of midfielder cheaply if you know the waters where you are fishing. Eg Hayden looks decent but cost a lot whereas Curtis Tilt looked even better and cost nothing.

Looking like a play off team at the moment.
I'd suggest it's a useful reality-check. So many fans seemed to have convinced themselves we were champions elect, before a single ball had been kicked in anger. New management team, an influx of new players and a limited pre-season program. Always likely to be a work-in-progress at this stage.

Could Bryce the be the holding midfielder? If he can play left and right side of the defence and is able to move forward with the ball, he could well be.

I wish someone would just ask PP outright "Did you try to sign a CDM or did you deem that you had enough in this squad already"

We’re 4 games in but I’ll tell you now with confidence that Tilt isn’t fit to lace Hayden’s boots.

Is moving forward with the ball the main attribute needed to be a holding midfielder?

It helps if you can, and as a wing back he obviously can. I'd imagine he can tackle and can cover both sides. I'd say he has a real potential to be the holding midfielder.
