Default Standing at Wrexham games

I have been a supporter of Wrexham FC for about 30 years.

I used to go in the kop when I was small and then mainly in the Mold Road stand when that was built.

Since the takeover, like everyone else, I have just got a ticket wherever I can. Unfortunately, i have only managed to secure tickets for two games in total (one home league game so far and last nights cup game.)

Lat season we did manage to secure tickets in the Wrexham Lager stand, but this season, i have only manged to get tickets for Tech End and then obviously away end last night.

On both occasions, all fans stood up for the entire match.
I didn't think persistent standing was allowed in seated areas?

It wouldn't be a major issue just for me, but i usually have two young children with me and last night especially was a bit of an issue.

My youngest got upset that she couldn't see a thing, so I told her to stand on one of the seats, which she then also got upset about as she thought she was going to fall (I was also a bit worried about this the entire game.)

I've never had an issue with this in MRS and WXM lager stand.

Is this the norm for away games and in the tech end?

I can understand people getting up and standing when celebrating when something happens, but to persistently stand though the whole game whne nothing is happening just seems a bit pointless to me?

90% stand at away games. Very few will stick to the allocated seat so, if you want to sit, go in early and grab a seat near the front where you'll be able to sit without having view obstructed.

Majority of the Upper Tech stand, especially those blocks on the left side of the goal towards the away fans. In the lower you'll get a few stood nearer the back but a lot in the front to middle rows will sit except for the biggest games/moments of excitement.

The problem is demand is so excessive that, when getting tickets, you just need to pick an area and forget whether you're front, middle or back. You won't have the luxury of cherry picking seats to get a spot where the majority are likely to sit.

It is the norm for a large section of the tech end but ive never really noticed it in the lower tier.

And if you can get towards the MRS end of the upper tier i don't think they stand up all the time?

Its an atmosphere thing i guess, i used to stand on the kop and loved it, moved to the MRS and it just felt flatter to me.

If i was in a seat i wouldn't stand up throughout the match (unless everyone around me had!) but i can sort of understand it.

Away from home standing is pretty common...

You sit where you like at away games, plenty were sat down in the front last night, that's where you need to head next time.

It's normal to stand behind the goal, and at away games. If you get tech end tickets again, offer them online to swap with Wxm Lager or MRS. You'll get plenty of takers.

Thanks.

We got there quite early last night, but i just assumed with it being a sell out that you would have to stick to your seat. Will know for next time.

We were told to sit in our seats, but we got there early for other reasons. Got to our seats after we did what we needed to do, and someone was in it. Told them but wasn't fussed as the row behind us was free for all of us, so we went there.

Fact is if you want a decent enough spot and to sit down (for whatever reason you may have) is to get there early enough.

Bradford and Notts will be big allocations and i'd advise if you were to go, to go in early enough to get your seat that you so desire.

Centre and side closest to the away fans of the upper Tech End or whatever its called these days stand up as a rule. Side closest to the Mold Road tends to sit down during games.

We sit behind goal(upper) at home. About 4 rows back directly behind goal.. Everyone in front tends to sit down at ko. EXCEPT one guy who insists on standing for the 90 mins. So the guys directly behind him get fed up of ducking and diving so inevitably they end up standing which has a knock on affect for everyone else.
Like another poster said,I also used to stand on the old kop and dont mind standing but at the end of the day they are now seats. I'm very aware of an elderly couple directly behind me who remain seated throughout and no doubt have their view obstructed if I stand. Dilemma to be honest. I could stay seated and bob and weave my way through the match knowing I'm not restricting their view or sod it and stand up so I can see the game I've paid for. All this due to one guy. And yes he knows what we think but he's really not arsed.
If he was told from the off by a steward either sit or be ejected then the issue is sorted. Seems petty reading it back but its a situation which could be easily avoided.
