Instantly looked a better team and Kelly had a nice couple of touches whilst he was there and we did look a better side for it.. what I didn't understand then was the substitution in taking Kelly off, unless he was injured but he didn't appear to be?
First game back from hamstring so I guess it was always on the cards to take Kelly off. To save a recurrence and another 2/3 weeks out...

I've always maintained that it would be a two year job to sort us out and nothing I've seen has changed that view. Keates has the spine of a team that is solid (and mostly on a 2 year deal) and has something to build on. I have no doubt that the reason he's set us up as he has is that he understands we're not great going forward so has made us extremely hard to beat. (This may have not been by design - I don't think any of us thought we'd be struggling this badly for goals - but rather of necessity).
Didnt mention he wasnt the right man??

I think it was a risk playing Kelly on Saturday so he was probably always not getting 90, but hopefully both MK and Mackreth can put their injuries behind them, they are both key to us kicking on. Even without reinforcements we are yet to see us at our best, but the question is can we get/keep Holroyd, Kelly and Mackreth match fit and firing.

In the meantime, I will settle for the same approach at Prenton Park, if we can grind out a result.

What we need to start with is no more brain farts by Keates.

Play Massanka and Reid up-front, and bring Wright back into midfield. It's blindingly obvious that without our outfield loan players we're a weaker team.

LM is still a problem; ideally Rutherford should be there but we need him on the right. I also think Hurst has performed better at RB than Roberts.

Oh yes; where's this fecking striker? Is he working full-time as a teacher and needs to give a term's notice?

I remember Keates saying in an interview that Mackreth would excite people and put bums on seats. Well it might change but so far....

To be fair he's barely played enough to get any kind of form. I think he's a better player than what we've seen so far and should be starting games.

We've had precious little from our wingers and forwards. The central midfielders appear to be carrying the can for the rest of the team.

In terms of goals, nothing from Boden, Holroyd, Kelly, Rutherford and Mackreth.

Mackreth and Holroyd have been injured for some of those games, no goals in 11 games from those 5 players simply ain't good enough.
