I don't know. I'm just going off the figure bandied about on here. So our first team budget is not what the accounts state it is then? i.e just the squad's wages. I wouldn't be suprised given the amount of spin put on everything.

Exactly... hence us signing mike Bailey-Nicholas-talom...

This week will be really exciting with all the contracts finishing at the weekend in the FL.

Ok well lets reduce the £95k to £50k quoted I am sure we could afford a couple of players on that!

The accounts don't have a breakdown for players' wages, just an entry for 'Football Costs'. This was £1.1m in 2015/16, no figures were available in last year's accounts.

2. A club sends out a tweet to announce/hint that a signing is imminent. It’s a dramatically lit photo of a number 9 shirt hanging in an empty changing room. “One hour...” is the text, with a few signing/autograph emojies thrown in for good measure.

Now which one raises your excitement levels further? Which tweet leads you to think that the signing will be a really significant one that fans of said club would be absolutely delighted with considering weeks of waiting previously?

In marketing perception is everything...
So, it was your perception, not the media team. They weren't responsible for your reaction/ interpretation of the news. It's like putting a picture in a shop window, you crossing the road to look at the picture closer and getting hit by a bus. Who's at fault for getting hit by the bus? According to your logic, the picture.
