I am convinced the stadium moved that night

Saw a number of Wrexham fans on the Kop that night ( a lot more jocks though), travelled with two bus loads from Rhos and Pen y cae.

Wore my scarf all game along with a lot of others, young and stupid in those days.

Got to say the Welsh lads ( both Cardiff and Wrexham) at the back of the kop put up a good effort that night and kept the Scots off the rest of us for most of the game. It was like something from Zulu at times.

I remember Joe Jordan and Gordon McQueen on the pitch suited and booted before the game
Jordan kicked a ball in the net Kop end and the Scots just poured down from the top

Hell of an evening. Wrexham and Cardiff lads standing up to the Scots all through. Ticketing was the blame of the greedy Welsh FA. One scottish bloke in front of me at the turnstile was carrying a large teddy bear. Entering the ground he said "follow me taff" and out of sight of the police removed the bear's head pulled a bottle of whisky. out. Turnstile operators were accepting cash for entry even though it was all ticket.

I sure we would have won the game at the Racecourse
Both teams where evenly matched
Seeing all the support they had would have lifted the Scots
The hand ball did not help though
Think at the time the head of our FA was Alun Evans could be wrong

Alun Evans he had a bigger fan club than Spencer, I could imagine the abuse he would have got if there was such a thing as social media. But fair plair this decision was a massive own goal by the Welsh FA, the Racecourse was popular with the players and a fortress for Wales at the time.

I went to both, and Anfield was worse.... I was bricking it on both occasions tbh, but the elation of Dixies goal seemed to make things easier at Newcastle! Showered with coins at St James and bottles at Anfield - They were the two stand out nightmare games I’ve ever attended.
Those were the days!

i didnt go to anfield but did to newcastle, man when dixie scored we went nuts but had to pay after, a dark walk back to the coaches, very surreal, horrible ballaclava clad entities lurking in every shadow, this was winter hill stuff, but just a few days later back in civilisation we effin well hammered them, im pissed now but im sure we knocked newcastle (and bristol city) out of the league cup and fa cup that season, man what a team we had
