Salford reaction

Disappointed with the lethargic play. Very slow to get the ball forward and seemed to start with a point as the default position.
Even when they scored the first we failed to react.
Wouldn't mark any player with more than a 6 apart from the skipper.
Hope it's just one bad game. Salford are not that impressive a team but we gifted them the points.
Typical non league ground, poor facilities for such a large following and poor access and exit from the ground.
Had to laugh at the music played when we were leaving. "Money talks"

Bad day at the office but let's face it they did a job on us didn't they ? did you notice that they had reduced the width of the pitch on both sides ?
Poor facilities and as for the toilets !!! one good thing we parked right outside in their restricted are a and didn't get booked ,was told the parking wardens don't work bank holidays !!

We are in a stronger position after the Xmas fixtures than we were before them so it’s not the end of the world, I think another day we would have got something from this game. A win on Saturday is vital for our title hopes with hopefully a favourable result with orient and Salford playing

Just got to keep winning and like you say hope results elsewhere go in our favour.

I think GB needs to sort out our away form....... but without a striker it can prove difficult.

Lets hope we get some decent players in this transfer window who can score goals and get us back into L2.

Yes, I noticed the reduced width of the pitch. They tend to play right through the middle and they are week from crosses, having said that we put loads of crosses in today and they dealt with it with ease. Wider pitch would have suited us, but hey thats home advantage. OK so we lost today but this league is still in our hands. Lets get real here we are not going to win every game but we are well and truly in the mix.

Big game on Saturday Orient v Salford hoping for a draw and we can beat Dover and Bromley will see us sitting top of the league

Frustrating day, we had the majority of possession but didn't create nothing with it. I thought the back 4 and midfield often took the easy pass of side to side especially Summerfield who hardly passed the ball forward all game. It changed a bit when Tollitt came on and he looked to run at them at every oppurtunity but Salford then scored the second goal which killed the game. Young came on and made a bit of difference trying to move our play faster but it was too late by then.

Looking at Salford i don't think they are good enough to win the league as their defence is poor and midfield is average, and they won't play 5 at the back again so will be back to conceding goals again soon. And as for us we need that striker and keeping Tollitt for rest of the season.

Cheers for the usual balanced report. Another unchanged line up is supposed to help with consistency but it seems to mask limitations in the squad as indicated by GB himself. Match reports seem to say we looked flat, leggy and tired so maybe a couple of tweaks were needed
QRs ratings of 6s dont win titles and dont win games against promotion rivals and a bit more quality is needed.

We dont have much if anything on the bench that can come on and either change or win a game and GB needs to address this in January.

Time to regroup and move on to Saturday.
