Oh yeah, totally agree that he has every right to keep it, it was a signing on fee and he signed...

Simply saying IF we dug our heels in and made him stay and didn't get a decent offer for him and made him come to training etc all summer to then ditch him in August, he would have every right (from a personal perspective) to say well stuff you I will keep it.

This really doesn't do anything to help with our reputation amongst many fans that we're 'too soft'. I'm not buying the 'no big loss' case, he wasn't a creative passer of the ball, but he did the dirty work in midfield very well, and had he been alongside a more attacking/creative player, it could have been a very good partnership, that was what I was hoping for in 18/19. It wasn't his fault that the midfield set up last season was devoid of creativity, that wasn't the job he was brought in to do.

We benefitted from Gateshead agreeing to cancel Manny Smith's contract so I suppose it's the sort of thing that evens itself out, but right now it still feels like a kick in the balls.

Perhaps he means if Wedgebury signs for another Club in our Division and plays at the Racecourse for them?

Another boost to season ticket sales......ah well no need to panic.....Macc had hardly any players signed on until 2 weeks before the season started and they won the league........hang on they did have Askey the best manager in the League mind....but we have Ricketts....so no worries!
